Fundamentos para a pesquisa em transporte : reflexões filosóficas e contribuições da ontologia de Bunge

RESUMO

Research in the field of Transportation seems to have reached a degenerative problemshift, likewise whats been happening in some other fields of scientific investigation. The too few theoretical advances observed since the 70s indicate the necessity of redirecting our attention to the foundations, fundamentals and theories of the field of Transportation research. Here, we invite the reader to reflect on science, ontolgy, the nature of Transport phenomena in order to propose the foundations of a new research programme in Transportation research. We assert the intentional nature of Transport phenomena, which requires both reformulation and compatibilization of current theory and methods, and a promising language for expressing and formalizing ideas and concepts on the subject. Finally, we demonstrate the models such language is capable of producing, compare it to the models produced by other accepted theories, and we conclude with comments and indicatives for further research.
