RESUMO

This survey, carried out at the Self-Knowledge Research Group (Grupo de Pesquisa Saberes de Si) part of the post-graduate program in Education (PPGE) at the Regional Blumenau University(FURB). It is based on the practical experience and the daily work of a nurse within the family heath unity and her subsequent position as an educator for collective health. The research carried out under the SUS ? Brazilian Unique Health System ? reflects the aspects observed in the daily work experience, facilitating aspects, difficulties and contradictions. The object of this study is the requirement of ontological expression within the health education field. In order to do so, it explored the life histories as an educational tool for ontological expression that permeates the contents of the nursing practice in collective health. The research highlights the ontological dimension within the SUS system and its expression since the SUS system implementation. The survey intends to focus on the changes occurred within the health education field, particularly on the fact that the focus in health care providing has shifted the attention from a health promotion model to a disease prevention focused model. It also indicates the basics of hermeneutics and ontological education. It identifies the importance of Paulo Freire`s dialogical pedagogy in collective health education. It also explores the life stories as a form of literary art that triggers the ontological reflection expression in nursing education and collective health learning. The Heideggerian Existential Ontology was elected as one of the philosophical references as well as Paulo Freire pedagogy, and its appreciation of the vocabularys universe of the learners (and users), as the main theoretical benchmark. Clarice Lispector?s work; A Hora da Estrela was the object of poetical inspiration. As a response to the requirement of ontological expression in the health profession, the use of art appears as a catalytic-provocative element. The life story-based literature as a tool in the educational process proposed by this survey, triggers the perception of otherness and the subjective aspects of health care, fundamental elements in the therapeutic and educational practices
