The soil characteristic is red-yellow podzolic and the climate is Cwag of Kõppen. The aim of this study was to do the inventory of the flora (trees and shrubs), describe morfologically the species, and elaborate an identification key based on vegetative characters and to compare this inventory with another floristic studies in São Paulo. The samples were made from August 1996 to October 1997. It was included in the survey only fertile individuais with a trunk perimeter at breast height of 12cm ar greater. Hundred seventhy five species were identified (in 119 genera and 49 families). From these 8S,1%were trees. The richer families were Myrtaceae (14 species), Rutaceae and Fabaceae (13), Caesalpinaceae (11), Solanaceae (9), and Rubiaceae (7). The dichotomous key was illustrated with photographs of leaves. The vegetative features were very useful in the identification of the species in the absence of flower and fruits. The majority of plant species flowered from August to December. The frutification distributed uniformily during the year wiyh a lithle increase from August to November. Ribeirão Cachoeira Forest is very similar with another Campinas s fragments.
