RESUMO

This dissertation is linked to the research line of Discourse and Educational Practice from the Post Graduation Program Masters in Education at FURB and its objective was to analyze the discourse of eight teachers in relation to their Portuguese classes. The theoretical and methodological structures are written based mainly on the social and historical approach of the constitution of the subject and language, emphasizing Bakhtins works related to the conception of language, heading and discourse genre, allied to the Vygotskyan conception of learning and teaching knowledge indicated by Tardif. The qualitative research was carried out in Timbó and its boundary towns, including Doutor Pedrinho and it ranged 57.14% of the region of Médio Vale do Itajaí. The data collection happened from March to July 2005, through semi-structured interviews and the field diary, including the analyses of the National Curricular Parameters of the Portuguese language concerning the first school years and also the Curricular Proposal of Santa Catarina. The main objective is to comprehend, through the teachers voices, how the practice of the Portuguese classes is and how these teachers comprehend and deal with the language in the classroom. The teachers speeches reveal some voices with similar discoursive meanings which are called echoes. Besides, they offered resistance to the research and to the acceptance of the new meanings of teaching and learning proposed by the official documents mentioned before and the university. The silence also makes sense in relation to some sayings, mainly concerning the theory and the relationship teacher/researcher in the interspeech process. Considering these data, the voices of the teachers contribute to a reflection in the sense of bringing practical knowledge closer to academic knowledge, such as school and university. About the theoretical aspects, the enquiry promoted encounters and discussions among authors from different areas, in an interdisciplinary perspective
