RESUMO

This dissertation deals with questions of political strategies for the teaching of categories circulated in the field of Performance Studies among undergraduate students in the Performing Arts majoring in either Theater Performance or Education whose background is often locatable in subaltern classes marginalized by dominant cultures. Such strategies are based upon the uses of Critical Pedagogy and Critical Theory, Feminist Studies, Queer Theory, Cultural Studies, Post-Colonial Studies and Performance Art Pedagogy. The text aims to carry out a performative writing style that mixes the following formats: essay, autobiography and bibliographic review. The guiding thread of the argument is the questioning of the Law of the Father as the founding matrix of phallogocentric patriarchy as it opens the discussions about the relations between ethics and the teaching of Performing Arts; curriculum formations: hidden curricula; subjectivity and alterity in the classroom; theory and practice, dialogism and the embodiment of theoretical knowledges through the teaching of performance art.
