RESUMO

The Rubiaceae family is composed by plants of varied habit and represents the fourth largest family of Angiospermas, with around 10.700 species. The family is cosmopolitan and presents great diversity of species in the Brazilian Cerrado. Aiming to increase the knowledge on the karyotypic characteristics of the family, a cytological study was carried out with 14 species belonging to two of the four subfamilies of the group, (;()11E:!_E:!d in_reas()fCer_a_oin the stateof§ã
