RESUMO
With the objective of the application of some relevant teehniques which are used in the study of the formation of complexes in solution, with special emphasis to potentiometry, in the study of the system Lantanum(III)-Azide, the following topics were developed: 1- Firstly, we have redetermined the dissociation constant of hydrazoic acid in ionic strenght 1,0M and at 25°C, with the purpose of checking the equipment used. 2- We have studied the formation of the species CoN3; potentiometrically, under the same conditions of ionic strenght and temperature at which the same system was studied spectrophotometrically. 3- We have determined the formation enthalpy of the species CoN3, in ionic strenght 1,0M and at 25°C, by classical calorimetric technique. 4- We have studied the system La(III)-N3, potentiometrically, by using potentiometric titration technique and also a method where the constant is calculated at each point. The studies were made in ionic strenght 1,0M and at 25°C. 5- Finally, we have made a spectrophotometric study of system La( III )-N3, with the objective to confirm the formation of the species LaN3 and to determine its formation constant. We have employed a displacement method, which envolves the use of the species CoN3 as an auxiliary species.
