Estudo fitoquimico do genero Pachychizus Rich ex D.C

RESUMO

The present work was developed in two parts. In Part one we did the phytochemical study of four species of the genera Pachyrhizus (composed by five species). Sixteen compounds were isoIated and identified; among them, the isoflaven 12 and 2- aryIbenzofuran 14 are new compounds, and the isoflavone 11 is new as natural product. The quantitative evaluation of some components from CH2Cl2 extracts of P. ferrugineus and P. ahipa seeds were done by HPLC reverse phase. In Part two, we started the synthesis of 3-phenylcoumarin 9 (isolated from P. ferrugineus) and 2-ethoxy-isoflaven 130. We prepared the 5-formyl-6-hydroxy-coumaran (88) and tried the transformation of 2,4,5trimethoxyzaldehyde (124) into the aldehyde 128, in order to promote the aldolic condensation between 88 and 128. Although the transformation of 124 into 128 was not possible, we obtained two new cynnamic derivatives 136 and 138 besides chIorohydrin 141.
