RESUMO

The present hydrodynamics of a of particles. At first the design and the experimental set-up was handled. The bed was built in plexiglass with the possibility of the angle of the slanted base. Later the hydrodynamics the coating of particles was treated, studying the maximum pressure drop, the minimum spouting velocity and the maximum spoutable height. The used particles were placebos in the shape of real tablets. Two different shapes of tablets were used with diameters equal to .0.649 and 0.747 and spherecity equal to 0.8567 and 0.77. As for the hydrodynamics with coating of tablets, a suitable coating solution was developed and the influence of its spraying on the bedpressure drop was of special attention. Some preliminary observations were made concerning the quality of coating and the process efficiency. The next step was the verification of literature correlations for conventional spouted beds, adapted to the two-dimensional configuration by the definition of equivalent diameter for predicting the maximum pressure drop and minimum spouting velocity. Finally an experimental data fit was achieved and proper correlations were obtained for the parameters mentioned above
