RESUMO

Among the constituent elements of a hospitals environment, it is possible to mention the resources medical, administrative and technical, which can present limitations or adverse situations to an ideal operation. Of the several sections among which these resources can be or its involved, the surgical center can be mentioned. The present study consisted of the definition of variables that you/they made possible, through your alteration, to demonstrate through MedModel which resulted they would be of importance for the section, making possible an increase of the rate of occupation of the surgical center of the Hospital Universitário Cajuru, located in Curitiba (Brazil). The stages of development of the work were: analysis of requirements, development of the modelling of the operational flow, simulation, validation of the developed model and last the analysis of the results. For the attainment of the work three sceneries were created. The first, just considering one of the six existent surgical rooms, it supplied through the alteration of the variables, the subsidies to improve the rate of occupation of the orthopedical surgical specialty. The two following sceneries demonstrated which the impact of the amplification of the current ones six for ten rooms. The first considered the data of entrance of the model same to the Real of the section, obtaining the new occupation rate, and the other, it despised the entrance data, obtaining as result the new amount of attendances. The analysis of the results independently of factors technical or clinical, he/she offered subsidies for the principal factors generators of idleness of the section reduction. Besides these, the generated knowledge and the creation of the model they can be used for research in the medical area, bringing a real benefit of the application of the technology of the information in the area of health.
