RESUMO

I approach, in this work, histories of people who had been, between the years of 1960 and 1990, object of police violence in the city of Porto Alegre, in an effort to show that if violence and torture had been intensified during the Brasilian military dictatorship (1964-85), they follow the trajectory of the police institutions in Brazil until nowadays. I use the concepts of biopolitics , from Michel Foucault, naked life and state of exception from Giorgio Agamben, when reflecting and writing about the life and the death of Manoel Raimundo Soares, Hugo Kretschoer, Luis Alberto Arébalo, Mirajor Rondon, Antônio Clóvis, Júlio Cesar, Jefferson Pereira and Guiomar Nunes.
