RESUMO

This dissertation inquires into the reasons why João Antônio aligns nowadays with marginal literature. The investigation attempts to extend the debate settled by literary criticism about the roguery and the marginality in the authors work. For such an attempt, it tries to understand what are the components of the roguish speech trough another cultural production, the samba. From the characteristics of this poetry in the form of music, it was verified the possibility to establish a bride between Joao Antônios literary composition and marginal literature to understand, partially, the why in the permanence of the writers works in the field of this contemporary expression.
