RESUMO

Some iron ore types from Alegria and Fabrica Nova mines, mainly in the most superficial portions of their deposits, present higher hydration levels than those located in depth, being potentially generators of slimes and high alumina and phosphorus grades in the processed products. The main objective of this work was to investigate the effects of addition of reagents dispersant in a previous step to desliming and reverse iron ore flotation. The methodology used in this study included this stage: collect and preparation, mineralogical and technologist characteristic following collection of samples -0,15mm that make up the feeding stage desliming and technological application of the tests of dispersion of pulp dispersal. The use of dispersion in the desliming of hematitic ores, in their highest condition of pulp dispersal, allows the increase of the mass recovery to the slimes and flotation concentrate fractions and the decrease of Fe grade in the flotation tailings, Fe grade in the slimes, SiO2, Al2O3 and P grades in the flotation concentrate and increase in the selectivity index. In addition to reducing the consumption of collector, allows greater mass recovery and metal to concentrate. The reagents proposed for the study such as caustic soda and sodium hexametaphosphate obtained the greatest degree of dispersion of the pulp and the other had a higher mass recovery and metal in the stage of reverse flotation
