RESUMO

The internationalization of companies along the current period of globalization demands the use of strategies and competitive advantages, supported by a permanent review of several theoretical approaches, available in this field of study. The several ways of entering foreign markets imply different levels of commitment and benefits to the companies under internationalization. The operational organizations, in foreign countries, count on with resources and dynamic levels of competence which make them different from companies only involved in domestic markets. These resources and competence can be explained according to theories: Resource Based View-RBV and based on Dynamic Competence, implying in competitive advantages for the Companies. The brazilian agrobusiness outstands among international business, mainly in the shrimps sector. The activity is performed with high levels of profitability when compared with other agrobusinesses, having the capacity of raising income, expanding the job generation and increasing the entrance or foreign currency to Brazil, and above all to the Ceará State, being the main reason for the development of this study. Therefore, we must identify the necessary dynamic of the resources and strategies required to the enhancement of the internationalization of Cearas companies involved in the shrimp business. The methodology used in the identification of required resources involved interviews with professionals and experts in the sector, and later, a field research including visits to 9 shrimp farm producing and exporting companies .The results obtained indicate that the local companies make use of several strategic resources to participate in the international markets and also that most of them developed the internationalization through exports. Therefore, we understand that shrimp export companies in operation in the Ceará State have a long way to go along their internationalization, including the increase of commitment levels in foreign countries and, consequently, increasing the income, expanding the job opportunity and reinforcing the flows of foreign currencies to the State and also to Brazil.
