RESUMO

In a line-of-sight link with diffraction over the spherical earth, the main problem of a graphical solution is the great number of envolved variables, i.e., frequency, distance, effective earth radius, soil constants and polarization of the transmitted wave. For frequencies above 30MHz, excluding the vertical polarization over sea water, the effect of soil constants and of polarization are not important. So, this work studies the application of two parameters as functions of the other variables in getting that solution. This work also presents a set of curves covering most pratical case, made from a numerical solution, and whose error, based on the rigorous solution given by the residue series, does not exceed 1dB, a value quite acceptable in engineering calculations.
