RESUMO

In this work we design signals constellations in the hyperbolic plane. We analyse the performance of P AM, PSK and QAM-circular constellations in the hyperbolic plane in connection with similar constellations in the Euc1idean plane. To set up these constellations, we introduce several concepts of hyperbolic geometry, among then is the concept of tesselations in the plane. To make decisions with respect to the choice of tesselations providing constellations of interest, we develop enumerating functions, in order to count the number of points in finite subsets of tesselations To calculate the performance of signal constellations, we derive a gaussian probability density function in the hyperbolic plane and show its main properties. From the concept of hyperbolic gaussian probability density function, we characterize the hyperbolic gaussian chanel noise, using isometries of the hyperbolic plane
