RESUMO

This essay focuses the study of the interpretation of the Concertino for trumpet and orchestra or the Sonata for trumpet and piano, a same piece composed by the Brazilian nationalist composer Sérgio Oliveira de Vasconcellos-Corrêa. The critical questions of interpretation are evidenced by the comparison of the different versions of the work. They are related to articulation, dynamic, punctuation, decisions of tempo, trumpet type and mute choices. The principal goal is to offer interpretative solutions that have coherence with the style and the principles of musical structure, also supplying helpful information for a revision and correction of the musical text. Musical analysis reveals the motivic processes, the rhythmic properties of the musical form and the stylistic characteristics of the work. This knowledge makes possible more interpretative awareness of the interpreter.
