RESUMO

Looking for an assistencial reorganization in the public health and aiming at the attention to the person in its familiar context, the Public Health Department ,in 1994, considered a strategy that should guarantee the universality, completeness, equality and the spreading of information and services to the population, this strategy calls Familys Health Program. The hopeness from the workers of the Familys health program is that they have a good qualification to be resolutive with healths problem, organized with the local planning activities, for a good assistance, monitoring and make a health promotion, and that they work like a team. With the insertion of the buccals health team in the Familys health program, in 2000, the dentists must be prepared to act like this new context. We know that management when based on competences results in a set of changes, creating responsibilities and performances in their work. The Public healths System has gotten better results in the cities that had invested in the development of management studies in the central, district and local levels. Like this to plan, organize, control and to analize the actions and services of health to become essential for the performance of constitutional paper. The objectives of this work are to identify, to map and to analyze the knowledge, abilities and attitudes required for the management of deintistss abilities for the Familys Health Program in the consolidation of the Public Healths System. The method used will be a quantitative and qualitative method. The quantitative approach part of the originary model in the University of North Carolina, used in the evoluation of programs and the qualitative approach will be given through analysis of content of half-structuralized interviews. As results all the abilities had been considered excellent by the interviewed ones. Some abilities had been detached and the attitude was considered as, the most important component inside of the managemental abilities of the dentist, who will act in the Familys health Program. It can believe that this research can give a contribution as a tool for the transformation in odontologic practical and as a proposal of support to the permanent education in the Public Health Service. This research can also contribute for the Odontology courses, directing the formation with a real vison to the several necessities of the Public Health System.
