RESUMO

This present dissertation, linked to the Process and Pedagogic -Didactic Methods Research Group of the Masters Post-Graduation Program in Education of Blumenaus Regional University (FURB), located in Blumenau, Santa Catarina State, aimed to comprehend the fundamental aspects, upon which a group of information technology teachers of Fundamental Education in the public network schools using the activities they develop with their students in computing classes. The research, of qualitative nature, has four (4) computing teachers in referred to network. The data collected comprised a total of five (5) information technology activities, made available by four (4) computing teachers, they also were listened and their opinion made sense in this dissertation, along with a semi-structured interview . Mentioned activities were available in the months of August to December, 2006 and the semi-structured interview took place in the months of September and October, 2007. Our theoretical sources, regarding the computer at school, were Brito e Purificação (2006); Valente (1993); Almeida (2000); and Almeida (2005); as per the teachers knowledge, we were supported by Tardif (2002); and Vigotski (1997) was of great help in learning and teaching methodology issues. The analysis of the data showed that: the activities that involved socializing were significant to the teachers participating in the research; those teachers try to create different activities, oriented to the students interests, but end up by reproducing activities requested by the class teachers and adapt them to a format adequate to the contents of the curricula; for the teachers, education is necessary to accomplish the tasks; the teachers develop activities, in which the student has an active role in the execution of pre-elaborated activities by the teachers
