Cibercultura e arte "in vitro"

RESUMO

This work explores the emerging field of cyberculture in its relatioship with art and technology, computer-mediated telecomunication such as the internet and the World Wide Web (cyberspace, virtual communities, virtual reality, visual, digital poetry and so on). In order to achieve his purpose, diveded in two parts, its discusses some concepts, specifically virtual and virtuality as part of reality, cyberspace as a methaphorical space of computer systems and networks. It focuses on the work of Pierre Lévy (among others like Jean Baudrillard, Eduardo Subirats, Walter Benjamin and Paul Virilio) a world-leadind thinker on colletive intelligence and cyberculture; on the development on information and digital networks, hipertextual communication. This work develops the concept of digital virtualization as an alternative one to Pierre Lévy theorie that speculate the art in his technological context is a vitualization of virtualization. As an interdisciplinary work, the second part of it, focused on Philadelpho Menezes works and papers, discusses the visual poetry in order to study the phenomena of transition into the digital and virtual technological language. The new digital technologies has provided the contemporary experimental poetry with a new potential source of expressive instruments such us three-dimensional appearance and hipertextual links.
