RESUMO

Pitted keratolosis was described by Castellani in 1910. Since then many other descriptions have appeared disagreeing with the terminology with the etiopathogenic and clinical aspects and with the meaning of the microorganisms found in lesions. Besides non-identified coco filamentous organisms Corynebacterjum Dermatophilus congolensis and Micrococcus sedentarius were also individualized. In order to clarify these aspects we decided to: 1. review medical literature to recognize the classical clinic pattern of the disease and therefore identify less frequent and atypical forms 2. check the microorganisms presence in Pitted keratolosis lesions and establish a laboratory clue to the diagnosis 3. evaluate the meaning of microorganisms in the borderline and in the differential diagnosis of other pre-keratolotics diseases. We verified that Pitted keratolosis at first presents itself in white spots: "pre-keratolotycs" lesions
