RESUMO

A procedure for the analysis of static transmission error of helical gears under load is presented in this work. It gets rid of the assumption that the tooth contact will occur on the plane of action. A complete tooth contact analysis is considered taking into account lead and profile modifications, manufacturing errors and tooth deflections under load. Coefficients of influence method were employed to calculate the tooth deflections and a method to determine the load distribution on gear meshing was developed. The procedure was fully implemented through a computer code and some numerical examples were verified. The results were analyzed and compared to results of other reliable computer program and the differences between results were discussed and their causes were presented. This work presents a relevant contribution to the study and understanding of tooth contact under load, and contributes in the direction of a future work such as the dynamic model for gear noise prediction
