RESUMO

This research consists in a documentary study about Cadastro Único, a database created during the FHC government in order to facilitate the social politics implementation. It intends to cause a reflection about the database as a resource used for the Social Assistance Politics implementation. This study objective is the analysis of the database suitability to the Social Assistance Politics in Londrina-PR since its application. This study also analyses the relation between the Social Assistance Politics and the State Reformulation, considering that this reformulation, which occured in Brazil during the decade of 1990, interfered in the Politics conduction. Finally, another important aspect of the research is the analysis of Cadastro Único operation guidelines: centralization, access and transparency. The conclusion up to the moment this study is performed is that the cadúnico has not yet become an useful instrument for the Social Assistance Politics implementation.
