RESUMO

The research in question here shows the application of a plain of monitoring of water quality using the GIS and a statistic delineate like alleatorized block, integrating a methodologistic purpose for the water quality monitoring in Paulínia city, San Paul, Brazil. Twenty-two points of samples had been chosen and the results were presented in three stages. The period of water monitoring and analytical characterization accomplishment was between 1.999 and 2.000. The results integrate a project whose name is Characterization of use conditions of water and quality of rivers of Paulina city - SP, and it is supported by FAPESP (Process: 99/00411-1). The service here too presented shows results that permit discuss the territorial occupation in Paulínia-SP, through groprocessing utilization, getting the creation of images in digital format. Maps of use and soil occupation in two periods - (1.972 e 2.00), zoneament cards, declivity, shading and model of tridimentional orthographic perspective of the land are obtained. Aspects about viability and importance of using Geographic Information System (GIS) as support to management in towns looking for the preservation of hidric quality. The results can integrate a databank, to orient format a management proposes for water quality in that city (FAPESP Process Nº 98/03694-1).
