RESUMO

The occured changes in the economic market of Brazil and the World had made with that the companies searched positionings differentiated before its competitors. The Brazilian petrochemical industry in last the eight years started to follow the global trend of the sector to search the integration of the productive chain. The present work has as purpose to analyze the effect of the Copene-Braskem fusing in the relation of supply of raw material to the petrochemical companies of second generation under the perspective of the theory of the Transaction Costs. However one becomes necessary for the agreement of the present work to bring information on the Act of Concentration, its to seem, notes techniques and objections, as well as a recovery briefing of the evolution of the Brazilian petrochemical industry and the main reasons that take companies the vertical integration. The applied methodology was exploratory research, with procedures of study of case and qualitative and quantitative boardings. The developed procedures had demonstrated that the company studied in the case study presented given excellent to explain the reached results. Inside of the related context, it was explicit through statistical models the behavior of the prices of propylene, ethylene and toluene folloies the variation of price of its sources of manufacture as well as of the tariff of electric energy average industrial. We also prove the increase of cost of these raw materials after the year of 2004 and conclude that increase of the cost of transaction for the company studied after fusing of the Copene with the Braskem occurred.
