RESUMO
The photoacoustic thermal characterization of some quartz and glass samples is discussed. The physical quantity used as a thermal monitoring parameter is the thermal diffusivity which is measured using the phase lag between a front and rear illumination, at a single chopping frequency. At low modulation frequencies the thermal diffusivity is obtained from the phase lag between the front and rear illumination. At high modulation frequencies the thermal diffusivity is obtained from the frequency dependence of the front phase illumination data
