RESUMO

The lack of passivity of the implant supported prosthesis may lead to mechanical and biological disorders over the implants. By the photoelastic and strain gauge analysis, the purpose of this research was to evaluate the stress over the implants after tightening the prosthesis superstructure over five dental implants. A stainless steel matrix was manufactured and used with 5 Micro-Unit abutments (Conexao Sistemas de Proteses - Sao Paulo - Brazil), positioned symmetrically according to the Branemark protocol. This research has three groups: group I has one-piece bar. The group II has one-piece bar adapted and soldered over titanium cylinders. The group III has one-piece bar made by the CAD/CAM technique (3i Implant Innovations - EUA). The matrix was forged with duplication silicone (Silicone Master - Talladium do Brazil) connecting the transfers abutments with acrylic resin (GC Pattern - GC Dental). From the cast was fabricated the photoelastic model (Araldite - Araltec) with five regular implants in it (Master Screw - Conexao - SP). The passive fit was evaluated using photoelastic and strain gauge analysis and all screw had a 10Ncm torque. The fringes were analyzed by a round polariscope with a digital photo machine coupled on it (Cyber-Shot DSC-717 - Sony), which registered the images and the tension was recorded by the strain gauges coupled on a computer. The results demonstrated that the tension concentration over the group I was high in all dental implants, being necessary to improve the manufacturing technique. The border soldering technique proved to be viable with satisfactory result as the CAD/CAM technique
