RESUMO

In this work, the representation of externla cavities composed of passive and linear devices, throug their transmission matrices is introduced, making it possible, to developed an analysis using the transmission line model for the semicondutor laser with optical feedback, as proposed by Tromborg et al. Using this formalism, the effect on the stationary behavior of the semiconductor laser, caused by the introduction of a dieletric material plate (etalon) in an external cavity tuned by a diffraction grating, is analyzed. The influence of the optical feedback on the frequency stability, the linewidth reduction factor, the output optical power, the differential quantum efficiency and the threshold electronic current of the laser is discussed ...
