RESUMO

We evaluated 155 Nelore lactating primiparous cows submitted to successive handlings in the corral during a FTAI protocol which lasted eleven days with four departures to the corral (d0 - application of the intra-vaginal implant device + oestradiol benzoate; d7 - prostaglandin; d9 implant removal + ECP + shang; d11 - FTAI). Reactivity was registered during the handling through visual scores and flight speed. The frequency of resources used by the employees, use of the voice for the same ones and animal resistance to the handling were observed. We also perform leucogram and medium globular volume of 21 cows randomly sampled. The hematological profile and the behavioral registrations were analyzed along the protocol by Friedmans test. We also execute logistics regression to evaluate which cellular types would be influencing the pregnancy rates and Wilcoxon test to investigate differences among pregnant and non pregnant cows. An increase in white cells was observed in the elapsing of the protocol. The regression logistics analysis showed that the largest absolute value of eosinophils increased the gestation probability, evidencing that the stress generated by consecutive handlings hinders the pregnancy. There was also variation of the reactivity scores along the protocol and these increased starting from the first day, demonstrating an increase of the stress.
