RESUMO

The research was curried out at an Adult Education Centre for Unicamp employees and workers from Campinas region. By the use of individual teaching, it was given an option of study for workers who do shirt and adolescents who won?t fit in regular education. The aim of this research, as a teacher-researcher, was to understand the dynamic between the relationship of teacher-student, student-didactic materials and how our conception of ideas in the teaching of science works. The last aim evaluated from the tie they were presented as an idea to overcome particular behaviour, with the introduction of some changes. Thus, aimed to improve teaching quality under a perspective view as well as reducing the dropout levels. Levels. Among the changes we suggested, there was a reshaping of tests, the assertion of updated texts in the modules and occasional practical group classes. These activities were always liable to discussed and reevaluated. In order to present the results of these modifications, we adopted dialectic research elements by making use mainly of informal interview with students, analysis of didactic material either produced or not by the science teachers and used by the students including the written tests. The results suggest some possibilities in the individual teaching like the interactions that generate learning situations, the limitations like the extensive time flexibility which can discourage students, stay at school, and the misunderstanding caused by open spaces left at examinations, not taking to account all the power it carries in it
