RESUMO

The objective of our investigation which resulted in this masterâs dissertation is to talk with the conceptions of âthe democratic way to socialismâ and âdemocratic socialismâ , specially how they are expressed in the work of one of the most important theoretical authors, the brazilian politic scientist Carlos Nelson Coutinho. In our analysis, we began from the presumption that the reality has a totality character and this totality is based on the act of labor. This totality is also the result of a social-historical process and, at the same time, the reflection between subjectivity and objectivity . This is why, in our point of view, the comprehension of every moment in the social process imposes a search for its historical-ontology genesis and its articulation with the social totality in course. From that presumption, we try to make it emerge the origin, the sense and the consequences of the democratic transition issue and the âdemocratic socialismâ. To attend the need of displacement exposition represented by the âdemocratic-socialismâ idea, we started searching Marxâs notion of socialism. For this search the analysis of Marxâs work that deals with the theme was not enough and this is why we enlarged in the first chapter our investigation for the texts where his thinking is underlined. In the second chapter we tried to verify the conclusive determination of Markâs thinking reception. As it is well known, Markâs dominant version which was the one formulated by the participants of the II International, allowed us to understand the theoretical basis and the practical consequences of the democratic social concept of socialism. In the end, our investigation in the last chapter reached what we consider the fundamental center of this work: The characterization of the so called âdemocratic wayâ to socialism from the political work of Carlos Nelson Cout inho, trying to underline with this express alternative a centrality spin of labor, characteristic of Marxâs philosophical imposition to political centrality.
