RESUMO
Our proposal is to analyze of Tutaméia Terceiras Estórias (1967), the last book edited by João Guimarães Rosa during his lifetime, emphasizing his paratexts. Our initial hypothesis is that Tutaméia composition is guided by an esthetical project that excels for the trick (velhacaria), the country mans ruse. The objective is to trace, from the analyzed elements, an outline of the literary project. In respect to the present work there are some articles and spread citations, besides this, there are the Simões readings (1988) and Novis (1989). Simões conducts his reading through the prefaces, while Novis reveals his intratextualities. As much forewords as the intratextualities, as well as paratexts and intertextualities, constitute what Genette calls text transtextuality. The reading of the transtextual elements at Tutaméia guides us to fundamental questions to Guimarães Rosa, who explores in his works the ambiguity of the borderline regions. It is into the border of the book that the paratexts are located, aligned in such a way in Tutaméia in order to raise doubts related to his truth-value or his fiction. An analyze has been made into this dissertation concerning to the paratextual elements from Tutaméia title, book ears, index and the prefaces Aletria e hermenêutica and Hipotrélico in order to get the guidelines that command the Guimarães Rosas style, that is, the popular culture valorization, polyphonically related to his bookish erudition and the linguistic experimentalism that makes possible the vocabulary enrichment and the syntax of the Brazilian Portuguese, elements that interact, in a sense of transfiguring the reality through the intuition primacy.
