RESUMO

To present Dissertation of Master s degree interferes in the line of research School and Political Practices Public of the Program of Masters degree in Education of Santa Maria s Federal University - UFSM. The objective that addresses this study it consists of elucidating the challenges of the current socioeconomics context for the education superior university student in a general way and, in the ambit of the area of social sciences and human in a private way. The methodology followed a qualitative approach, through the technique of case study, using as instrument of collection of data, individual interviews and semi-structured that were recorded and, later, transcribed and analyzed through the method of content analysis. For the study of the relationship between the current socioeconomics context and the academical superior education the research delimited your debate around the referring subjects to the world of the work and of the public university, relating them to the context of the neoliberalism. For the discussion on the area of social sciences and human, the research centered your investigation field on the degree course in social sciences and of the professional sociologist being been worth of the debate with students and teachers of the degree course in social sciences of UFSM. The changes in the world of the work and of the production they are delineated as central problem, especially concerning your unfolding in the paper of the University. Such subjects became, like this, more evident with the redefinition of the paper of the State and of the public politics, that they acquired, starting from the years 1990, a neoliberal focus, ally to the speech that the overcoming of the current problems socioeconomics requests a new worker profile and, consequently, of a new model of professional formation, what would make possible the insert of the country in the new world dynamics. In that way the university has been pressed to govern your activities under the logic of the productivity and of the competitiveness, suitable to the market economy, and summoned to a more active participation in the sense of increasing the concentration in the investigation in the technological area relegating the importance of the knowledge of the area of social sciences and human to a second plan. This reality is evidenced in the days you act through the privilege in the financing of researches and linked careers to the new technologies, above all the ones that possess more immediate consequences in the productive system. Without denying the importance of the fomentation of the investigation in the technological area for the economical and social development of the country, which this research intends to problematize it is that, in the current context, the fact of the area of social sciences and human non matching the same priorities than the first happens in that the university gives up your historical public mission of critical thought and in the difficulty of thinking the own reality from different perspectives, what attacks in a direct way the autonomy of this institution. This way the largest challenge to be faced by the university, in the current socioeconomics context, becomes of adapting the education patterns to the new circumstances, without promoting the non-characterization of the university.
