A universidade aberta no Brasil no CEFET/PA : um estudo de caso sobre os fatores que dificultam e/ou facilitam o processo de implantação

RESUMO

This work has the objective of identifying and analyzing the factors that make difficult and/or make easy the implementation process of open University of Brazil at Centro Federal Center of Technologic Education of Pará. Through the identification of factors that prevent the development of the pedagogical practices in distance learning by the teachers; looking also to identify if the infra-structure and technical support conditions are appropriate; and analyzing if the procedures of continuous education of the technicians and teachers are appropriate for their work at UAB-CEFET/PA. The methodological procedures adopted to develop the research prioritize the qualitative aspects of investigation, based on rechecking the bibliography about the subject, which included researches and more significant works about the modality of distance learning. The bibliographic research was developed at the same time of the documental research, with the objective of collecting information about the implantation process of UAB in CEFET/PA. On this work, empirical research was also used. Data generation was made through interviews based on a semi-developed script, applied to one general coordinator of UAB, seven course coordinators, one pedagogue and one management technician. Questionnaires were applied to the students, the approached population was composed by 30 (thirty) students from the Pedagogy course developed on distance by CEFET/PA. The results found will be useful to: (1) identify the factors that make difficult and/or make easy the implementation of distance learning projects, like UABs project; (2) offer support to institutions which may be planning to install UAB in other spots through the country; (3) increase the management process of UAB at CEFET/PA and in other institutions that may come to implement UABs programs or some similar projects; (4) understand deeply the deployment process of UAB at CEFET/PA. This perspective we suggest and recommend some practices within the institutions of UAB.
