RESUMO

The lecture research for this masters degree is focused on the handcraft production of Porto Belo Peninsula in Santa Catarina, especially for been an economic, social, cultural and environment activity, partially supporting the handcraft community. As well, it presents traditional traces in a region configured as a touristy destiny in the summer season, with an accelerated rhythm of urban and demographic growth. Using interviews, where were applied different questionnaires for traditional fishing and handcraft manufacturers, the intimacy with a Social Organization (Boimamão Institute) which works on rescuing and promoting the local culture, and the developing of Environment Education target in the local Agenda 21 of Bombinhas, we were obtained data that situate the sustainability of the handcraft production, by creating a diagnosis that may be the basis of a project of a plan which objective helps on the understanding of Porto Belo Peninsula economic, social and environment reality
