RESUMO
This dissertation, which is a part of the research project ?Interdiscourse and Identity? under the coordination of Professor Maria José Rodrigues Faria Coracini, has for its mean purpose to question the poetry representations implicit in the activities and text books adopted by a Primary Public School in the State of São Paulo (5th to 8th Grades). Conceptions collected in interviews done with students of the grades mentioned, at the same school, as well as with non-scholar subjects will be considered. The aim of this work is to prove our hypothesis according to which the scholar discourse represented by textbooks is so intertwined with other discourses available in our society that it ends up being a part of the speech of scholar and non-scholar subjects. In order to prove our hypothesis, a crossing was made between some analysis of textbooks, regarded as the scholar conception of poetry, and the information collected from interviews with students. While the fieldwork was being done, however, we noticed that the collection of life experiences was more frequently evoked by the subjects than the scholar discourse. We believe this is due to how important the former is in the identity organization process
