RESUMO

This research is intended on checking the impact of a supply management orientation on suppliers operational performance and buyers competitive priority on products quality through associative and causal relationships among variables. The model used in this study is an adaptation of the one developed by Shin; Collier and Wilson (2003), on their study about american automotive industries. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study. Quantitative techniques were also used, like multinomial logistic regression and Spearman correlation analysis. Data were collected by means of survey research. Among 79 answered questionnaires, 63 were considered valid for analysis. By means of multinomial logistic regression some significant relationships among variables were detected confirming partially the previously established hypothesis regarding the constructs. It was concluded that here are evidences of impact of supply management orientation on suppliers and buyers performance, although in different maners. It is important to high light that this study considers only the buyers point of view.
