RESUMO

This dissertation analyses ethics in a materialism historic perspective, taking Karl Marx‟s German ideology and Mikhail Bakhtin‟s Marxism and the philosophy of language as base. We aim to demonstrate that the material way of production have a direct relationship with the human costumes and that it is not the individual who makes his/her ethics, but his/her historical condition. Human freedom does not come from human consciousness, but from the intercourse between humans‟ will and the historical context that he/she is part of. It is his/her relation with nature and the form of this relation that it is going to determinate the humans‟ way of production. And this serves as an infra-structure to human social relations. Those relations will create the necessity of communication between the individuals when language surges. Language is the physics necessity of relationship, it generates the possibility of human being to become social, therefore to Marx language is the real practical conscience, because it exists for the others humans. The language as a material representation of human social relations cannot be disassociated of an ethics that wants a real change to society
