RESUMO

The concentration of blood lactate is pointed as a factor responsible for divergent results in cellular number after exercising. The doubts about the immunity response in presence of exercising are still many and to identify if there is a relation between lactate and leukocytosis is one of them. Therefore, an experimental delineation was elaborated. Four groups of Wistar rats were submitted to different intensity of swimming exercises. Our results suggest a cubical polynomial relation between the number of circulating leukocytes and the concentration of sanguine lactate (R2=0,91). Lymphocytes presented a distribution similar to leukocytes. Monocytes (R2= 0,46) and neutrophils (R2= 0,81) had shown data with opposite behavior to concentration of blood lactate. In conclusion, the results suggest that the concentration of blood lactate is a predictor of the number of circulating leukocytes in Wistar rats
