RESUMO

This dissertation is aimed to carry out a study on the impact or no impact of the textbook in a given context. For this reason, to promote explanation of the issue, it was trying to clarify the use of such material in practic teaching at a school located in the town of Vereda, located in the municipality of Central (Bahia), in Bahia s semi-arid region compare the book in the context of a governmental public policy aimed at it free distribution and, consequently, in establishing a policy curriculum. We consider the progress of the textbook with respect to its dialogue with certain instances of academic discourse, while its approachement with the popular classes is not happying yet. We condemn therefore, that the Textbook serves as a silencer before the teacher not ready. Also trying to explain the subjectivities that the subjects are set, valuing the popular wisdom and reporting whenever possible interaction in the learning collected during the field research. To fulfill this intent we choose to use a qualitative approach to research, knowing that the social actors exert full influence to achieve the proposed goals. Finally, the analysis of interpretive stamp focused on actions of teachers and students of a certain locality, whithout cancelling the whole constituent of reality studied.
