1. REMOVAL OF TRIBUTYL PHOSPHATE FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS BY TiO2 HETEROGENEOUS PHOTOCATALYSIS SUPPORTED OVER A NEW METAL PLATE WITH KINETIC STUDY
Abstract The aim of this investigation was to study the degradation of tributyl phosphate (TBP) in aqueous solution by heterogeneous photocatalysis (UV-C/TiO2). To perform the investigation, aqueous solutions containing the contaminant were exposed to UV radiation in the absence or presence of TiO2 in suspension or supported on a Fe-Cr metal alloy plate. TBP

2. Effects of Cold Rolling Deformation on Microstructure and Damping Capacity of a Fe-Mn-Cr-Co-Si Alloy
The microstructure evolution of Fe-19Mn-8Cr-1Co-0.2Si (wt.%) alloy and Fe-19Mn (wt.%) alloy during cold rolling and its effect on the damping capacity of the two alloys were investigated. It was shown that the damping capacity of the two alloys was enhanced significantly owing to the deformation-induced ε-martensite and stacking faults. The Fe-19Mn-8Cr-1Co-

3. Mejora de la resistencia al desgaste abrasivo de un revestimiento Fe-Cr-Mn-C mediante la adición de V
ABSTRACT The aim of this work is to increase the abrasive wear resistance of a coating, applied on plates of AISI 1020 carbon steel, using tubular coated electrodes with the Fe-Cr-Mn-C alloy system. In order to achieve this increase, V was added to the alloy system. The resulting coating were studied using optical microscopy (MO), X-ray diffraction and micro

5. Length Scale of the Dendritic Array Tailoring Strength of a 5052 Aluminum Alloy
The present research aims to characterize 5xxx alloy series, considering chemistries based on the commercial 5052 alloy with three Mg contents (2.4wt.%, 2.6wt.% and 3.2wt.%) through transient directional solidification experiments. Very representative incoming impurities to a given twin-roll casting procedure were reached. As such, the Si, Fe, Cu, Mn and Cr-

6. Efecto de los parámetros de aplicación en recubrimientos de Ni-Cr-B-Fe-Si obtenidos por Flame Spray
ABSTRACT Surface damage of components in service is an issue of great industrial interest because of the costs associated to the replacement of certain critical components. There are several techniques to generate coatings, which provide increased resistance to a particular type of surface damage. In this way, it is achieved surface protection to different s

7. Propiedades de superficies de Zr hexagonal y ZrO2 tetragonal de bajo índice a partir de cálculos DFT
ABSTRACT The use of nuclear reactor as a source of electric energy has been extended and consolidated during the second half of last century and the beginnings of XXI century. The continuity of this resource relies on the reliability and security of nuclear plants, requiring the improvement of all features related to their operation. Among them, the structur

8. Study of Mechanical and Wear Behaviour of Hyper-Eutectic Al-Si Automotive Alloy Through Fe, Ni and Cr Addition
Effect of Fe, Ni and Cr addition on the wear behavior of hyper-eutectic Al-Si automotive alloy has been studied. Dry sliding wear tests have been conducted using pin-on-disc wear testing machine under normal loads of 20N and constant sliding speed of 0.64 ms-1. Influence of Fe addition to the base alloy increases the wear rate due to the formation of needle

9. Carbon Distribution in Ferritic-Martensitic Fe-Cr-C Alloys
Carbon distribution in Fe-Cr-C alloys with a variety of Cr concentrations is studied based on internal friction, optical and transmission-electron microscopy. It is found that the carbon distribution strongly depends on initial microstructure, being ferritic or ferritic/martensitic, which is determined by the thermal treatment, and Cr and carbon concentratio

11. Laser Cladding of Fe-based Metallic Glass/MoS2 Self-lubricating Composites: Effect of Power and Scanning Speed
MoS2 powder has been used to form "self-lubricating" composite coatings, which are very useful to increase the lifetime of machines where liquid lubricants cannot be used. In this work, amorphous overspray powder of Fe60Cr8Nb8B24 (at%) alloy was mixed with 5wt.% MoS2 powder and it was used to produce single tracks on AISI 1020 steel substrates by laser cladd

12. Metallic Glass Formation Upon Rapid Solidification of Fe60Cr8Nb8B24 (at%) Alloy through LASER Cladding and Remelting
Fe60Cr8Nb8B24 (at%) amorphous powder and ingot were submitted to LASER cladding and remelting process, respectively. Fe-based coatings were produced using different LASER processing parameters and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Vickers microhardness. All coatings obtained by LASER cladding (LC) and layers obt
