1. Processamento de catalisadores gastos de unidade de hidrodessulfurização profunda (ultra-deep HDS)
PROCESSING OF SPENT ULTRA-DEEP HYDRODESULFURIZATION CATALYSTS. This work discusses the recycling of spent NiMo/Al2O3 catalysts from ultra-deep hydrodesulfurization (HDS) units. They contain a refractory coke and fouling elements from the processed feedstocks. Samples were preoxidized (600 ºC) for 12 h using a very slow heating rate to eliminate coke and vol

2. MODELING OF THE SOLVENT EXTRACTION EQUILIBRIUM OF URANIUM (VI) SULFATE WITH ALAMINE 336
Abstract The present study investigated the solvent extraction of uranium from sulfate acid solutions using Alamine 336 as an extractant dissolved in commercial kerosene Exxsol D-100 and 5% v/v of tridecanol as a modifying agent at room temperature (25±2) ºC and an aqueous/organic volumetric ratio of unity. Experiments were carried out at typical concentra

3. Processamento de placas de circuito impresso de equipamentos eletroeletrônicos de pequeno porte
A hydrometallurgical process applicable to printed circuit boards of small electrical and electronic devices was developed. This involved three leaching steps (60 ºC, 2 h): 6 mol L-1 NaOH, 6 mol L-1 HCl and aqua regia. NaOH removed the resin and flame retardant that covered the circuit boards. HCl dissolved the most electropositive metals and a small amount

4. Processing of spent NiW/Al2O3 catalysts
Spent oxidized (500 ºC, 5 h) commercial NiW/Al2O3 catalysts were processed using two different routes: a) fusion with NaOH (650 ºC, 1 h), the roasted mass was leached in water; b) leaching with HCl or H2SO4 (70 ºC, 1-3 h). HCl was the best leachant. In both routes, soluble tungsten was extracted at pH 1 with Alamine 336 (10 vol.% in kerosene) and stripped

5. Solvent extraction studies on uranium using amine based extractants and recovery from low grade ore leach liquors

7. RECOVERY OF THORIUM AND URANIUM FROM MONAZITE PROCESSING LIQUOR PRODUCED BY INB/CALDAS, MG, BY SOLVENT EXTRACTION / Recuperação de tório e urânio a partir do licor gerado no processamento da monazita pela INB/Caldas, MG

8. Influence of Organic Solvents on Chalcopyrite Oxidation Ability of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans
It has been shown that organic solvents used primarily for the extraction of metals from aqueous leach liquors decrease both the surface tension of the aqueous phase and the chalcopyrite oxidation ability of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans. For the reagents and modifiers investigated, the order of inhibition was found to be LIX 70 < LIX 73 < LIX 71 < LIX 64N < LIX

9. D-Alanine-requiring cell wall mutant of Escherichia coli.
A mutant of Escherichia coli is described whose cells show a spherical or irregular morphology, associated with leakage of beta-galactosidase and other intracellular proteins. The expression of the morphologic abnormality is most marked when the mutant is grown in rich media and is suppressed by D-alamine, D-serine, D-glutamate, or glycine supplementation. D
