1. Animal models as tools to study the pathophysiology of depression
The incidence of depressive illness is high worldwide, and the inadequacy of currently available drug treatments contributes to the significant health burden associated with depression. A basic understanding of the underlying disease processes in depression is lacking; therefore, recreating the disease in animal models is not possible. Popular current models

3. Effect of pectin and cellulose in the toxicity of pyrethroids insecticides in electrocardiographics and morphologicals parameters in male weaning Wistar rats.
The study was conducted on male wealing Wistar rats. They were exposed, by gavage, to deltamethrin and permethrin and the carditoxic effects of the pyrethroids and protective effects of dietary fibres were determinated. The purposes of this study were the eletrocardiographics evaluation, the histopathological study of the liver and heart and the residues det

4. EFFECT OF DIPHENYL DISELENIDE ON TOXICITY INDUCED BY MERCURIC CHLORIDE IN MICE / EFEITO DO DISSELENETO DE DIFENILA SOBRE A TOXICIDADE INDUZIDA POR CLORETO DE MERCÚRIO EM CAMUNDONGOS
Mercury is a metal without physiological functions in human body and is toxic to human beings. This metal has many applications in industry and, therefore it is very important in occupational and environmental exposure. The toxicity of mercury depends on the form of the metal and can affect several organs, such as brain, kidney and liver. In addition, mercur

5. Sensitivity of the acetylcholinesterase enzyme (E.C. 3.1.1.7) at nicotine in vitro and in vivo / SENSIBILIDADE DA ENZIMA ACETILCOLINESTERASE (E.C. 3.1.1.7) À NICOTINA IN VITRO E IN VIVO

6. Systemic effects of inhalational methyl bromide poisoning: a study of nine cases occupationally exposed due to inadvertent spread during fumigation.
Systemic methyl bromide (CH3Br) poisoning with signs and symptoms of varying severity developed in nine greenhouse workers after acute inhalational exposure on two consecutive days. Measurements of CH3Br, carried out at the site within hours after the accident, suggest that exposure on the second day may have been in excess of 200 ppm (800 mg/m3) CH3Br. All
