RESUMO

This research focuses on the trajectory of Luiza Tavora during the period from 1962 to 1966, while she was the wife of a public man and ruler, who took over function at the Federal Government and State, in which in its performance presented aspects modernising, aspects but with traditional habits of patronage and philanthropy. It is a study in the field of Political History whose central goal is to understand the dynamics of the activities of Luiza Tavora in the political arena in which she was inserted, her relations with other historical subjects and also analyze the forms used to achieve the political objectives desired by the group. For this reason, from the myth of the mother provider and strengthened in their performance in the first-damismo, the concept of representation is one of the elements that help in understanding the role of the character.
