RESUMO

In recent years, stricto-sensu graduate courses have been going through a growth process guided by policies that direct their operation and the strategies aiming at the insertion of the graduate system in the international arena. The principle of internationalization of scientific research is also present in the evaluation of stricto-sensu graduate programs inserted in the Greater Area of Health Sciences, such as Physical Education. Thus, we set as a general objective to analyze how the field of the Greater Area of Health Sciences guides the training of human resources and knowledge production in the stricto-sensu graduate programs in Physical Education. The method employed was the qualitative approach, specifically the study of the exploratory kind. Capes documents were used as source of data collection, specifically the Triennial Assessment Sheets 2007 (period 2004/2006) of five Physical Education graduate programs (PPGEF/USP, PPGCMH/UNESP, PPGCMH/UFRGS, PPGEF/UGF e PPGEF/UFSC) that had, in the year of 2007, concepts equal or superior to five. The data were analyzed using the technique of content analysis. The following category of analysis was established a posteriori: the properties of the field and the training of human resources in stricto-sensu Physical Education graduate programs. We observed that the Greater Area of Health Sciences establishes assessment criteria that induce the production of scientific capital in the programs. In establishing the Qualis as strategy of accumulating scientific capital, it favors programs from knowledge fields with a production consisting predominantly of articles, which increase the odds in the fights for funding, transforming the financial resources into an object of dispute. In Physical Education, the criteria imposed by the Greater Area of Health Sciences favors the sub-area of biodynamics, which establishes itself as the dominant using the Qualis as strategy to retain its position. In the pedagogical and sociocultural sub-areas, the attempt to evaluate books and book chapters its becoming subversion strategy. We observe that, in Physical Education, the friction between groups is intensified in the intellectual production, with the fight for dominance of the strategies of knowledge production affecting the structure of the programs. We believe that the logic governing the evaluation of the Greater Area of Health Sciences favors the profile of egress that contributes to raise the volume of scientific capital, undermining the quality of intellectual production and the training of human resources for teaching in undergraduate courses and stricto-sensu graduate programs in Physical Education.
