1. Glass Formation of Null-Matrix Cu-Hf-(Zr, Ti) Alloys
An approach following the null-matrix, Ti/Zr ratio of 2.08, for neutron diffraction was used to calculate the glass formation in Cu-Ti-(Hf,Zr) alloys. The Cu55Zr14.6Ti30.4, Cu61.48Hf18.52Zr6.48Ti13.52, Cu58.1Hf16.9Zr8.1Ti16.9 and Cu52.46Hf14.2Zr10.8Ti22.54 compositions (at. %), were calculated and prepared by argon arc melting. Copper die suction casting was

2. Morphology, Crystalline Structure and Chemical Composition Of MAO Treated Ti-15Zr-Mo Surfaces Enriched with Bioactive Ions
In this study, MAO treatment was used to enrich, with bioactive Ca, Mg and P atoms, as-casted and heat-treated Ti-15Zr-xMo (x = 0, 5, 10 and 15 wt%) alloys, for potential use as advanced metallic biomaterials. The chemical composition of the surface was evaluated by EDS and XPS measurements. The morphology and microstructure was analyzed by OM and SEM images

3. Influence of Zirconium Percentage on Microhardness and Corrosion Resistance of Ti50 Ni50-xZrx Shape Memory Alloys
To obtain high temperature shape memory alloys of the lower cost Ni-Ti-X system, elements such as Hf and Zr are introduced to modify the thermal and mechanical properties of these alloys. This work studied the production and characterization of Ti50 Ni50-x Zrx alloys (x = 0, 5, 10 at.%) with the aim of improving their thermal, mechanical and corrosion resist

4. Efecto de la sustitución de V por Ti sobre las temperaturas de transformación de fase y el desajuste de red matriz/precipitado en la superaleación 76Fe-12Al-12V
ABSTRACT Fe-Al based alloys have a remarkable potential for high temperature structural applications, provided that the limitation of their low creep resistance is solved. Third element addition (Nb, Ti, Zr or Ta) has proven to per-form the task, at the expense of a low ductility. In previous works we have investigated ferritic alloys in the Fe-Al-V system w

5. Mechanical Spectroscopy of Ti-15Zr-based Alloys with Mo Addition
In this paper, the effect of substitutional Mo amounts in internal friction and interstitial diffusion mechanisms was analyzed in Ti-15Zr-based alloys. Mechanical spectroscopy was obtained from room temperature up to 730 K with frequencies between 1 Hz and 40 Hz. Internal friction spectra were composed by anelastic relaxation peaks in β-type alloys (metasta

6. Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ti-12Mo-8Nb Alloy Hot Swaged and Treated for Orthopedic Applications
Metastable β-type Ti alloys with non-toxic addition elements such as Mo, Zr, Sn, Ta and Nb were developed as an alternative to the widely used Ti-6Al-4V alloy for biomedical applications. These alloys possess enhanced biocompatibility and reduced elastic modulus in comparison with Ti-6Al-4V. Moreover, for orthopedic implants, low Young's modulus is required

7. Ultrafine-Grained Ti-13Nb-13Zr Alloy Produced by Severe Plastic Deformation
Biomedical devices currently in use (prostheses, implants) have satisfactory performance in many cases. However, sometimes the body reacts to the device insertion and may lead to its rapid replacement. Some of these disadvantages can be solved by the use of titanium and its alloys, due to their excellent combination of corrosion resistance, wear resistance a

8. A Numerical Simulation of a Ni-based Bulk Metallic Glass During Compressive Deformation and Fracture
On the basis of compression tests, uni-axial compression deformation and fracture behaviors of NiTiZrAlCuSi bulk metallic glass samples with different dimensions have been studied by numerical simulation approaches. Finite element models for compression simulation have been developed using ABAQUS software. Shear damage models were employed to reproduce the c

9. Hydrogen absorption study of ti-based alloys performed by melt-spinning
The hydrogen absorption and desorption of Ti53Zr27Ni20 icosahedral quasicrystal (ICQ) and Ti50Ni50 shape memory alloy (SMA) melt-spun ribbons was studied. Samples were exposed to hydrogen gas at 623 K and 4 MPa for 1000 minutes. The total capacity of hydrogen obtained for Ti53Zr27Ni20 and Ti50Ni50 was 3.2 and 2.4 wt. % respectively. The Thermal Desorption Sp

11. Hydrogen absorption/desorption properties in the TiCrV based alloys
Three different Ti-based alloys with bcc structure and Laves phase were studied. The TiCr1.1V0.9, TiCr1.1V0.45Nb0.45 and TiCr1.1V0.9 + 4%Zr7Ni10 alloys were melted in arc furnace under argon atmosphere. The hydrogen absorption capacity was measured by using aparatus type Sievert's. Crystal structures, and the lattice parameters were determined by using X-ray
