1. Tailoring the properties of Y2O3 via synthesis parameters varied during the PVA-assisted sol-gel route
Abstract The effect of synthesis parameters on the microstructural behavior and morphology during the yttrium oxide (Y2O3) formation is reported. Y2O3 crystals were produced by a modified sol-gel route assisted by polyvinyl alcohol solution varying the calcination temperature and solution pH. The crystalline phase formation was investigated using X-ray powde

2. Enhancing the Supercapacitive and Superparamagnetic Performances of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles through Yttrium Cations Electro-chemical Doping
A one-pot electrosynthesis platform is reported for fabrication of Y3+ doped iron oxide nanoparticles (Y-IONPs). In this procedure, Y-IONPs are electro-deposited from an additive-free aqueous solution of iron(III) nitrate, iron(II) chloride and yttrium chloride. The analysis data provided by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission electron microscopy (FE-SEM

3. ÓXIDO DE ÍTRIO E ALUMÍNIO DOPADO COM Yb3+ E Er3+ INCORPORADO EM MEMBRANA DE POLIAMIDA
Lanthanide ions have special light emission, which can occur through descending and ascending energy conversion. Ascending energy conversion is especially interesting for bioapplications because excitation in the infrared region does not excite biomolecules and therefore does not interfere in detection, not to mention that it penetrates deeper in the skin. 4. High Temperature Oxidation Behavior of Yttrium Dioxide Coated Fe-20Cr Alloy
Long term isothermal and cyclic oxidation behavior of yttrium dioxide (Y2O3) coated Fe-20Cr alloy was studied. Oxidation tests were carried out in air for periods of up to 200 hours at 1000°C and the oxidation behavior of the alloy was evaluated gravimetrically. The Y2O3 coating reduced markedly the mass gain of the alloy. Energy dispersive spectroscopic an

5. Microstructural and Electrical Features of Yttrium Stabilised Zirconia with ZnO as Sintering Additive
Adding ZnO reduces sintering temperature of yttria stabilized zirconia. Adding up to 0.5 wt% of ZnO is possible to densify to 8 mol% yttria stabilized zirconia (TZ8Y) to 95% of relative density at 1300 °C, besides, the electrical conductivity increases about 30% at 800 °C when compared to pure TZ8Y with the same relative density and average grain size. The

6. Properties of SiC Ceramics Sintered via Liquid Phase Using Al2O3 + Y2O3, Al2O3 + Yb2O3 and Al2O3 + Dy2O3 as Additives: a Comparative Study
Silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics show excellent performance at high temperatures. Due to the high covalence of Si-C bonds, these ceramics are produced successfully only via liquid phase sintering (LPS). In this work, SiC ceramics were sintered via LPS using eutectic mixtures of Al2O3+Y2O3, which served as a standard for comparison, Al2O3+Yb2O3 and Al2O3+Dy2O3.

7. Compatibility analyses of BICUVOX.10 as a cathode in yttria-stabilized zirconia electrolytes for usage in solid oxide fuel cells
Copper-substituted bismuth vanadate has been considered a promising material for composite cathodes in SOFC. However, high reactivity of BICUVOX.10 towards the electrolytes still has been its greatest shortcoming. This paper describes reactions between BICUVOX.10 and yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolytes. Secondary phases formed were evaluated by X-r

8. Development and test of a small resistive fault current limiting device based on Hg, Re-1223 and Sm-123 ceramics
Several reports describing Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) containing members of the bismuth or yttrium ceramics were already described. However, none of these included the mercury and samarium cuprates. Consequently, we have conducted a study of a resistive-type superconductor fault current limiter based on Hg0.82Re0.18Ba2Ca2Cu3O8+d samples and

9. Conversão de biogás em gás de síntese via reações de reforma do metano com CO2 e a vapor sobre catalisadores de Ni-Y-Al / Biogas conversion to synthesis gas via methane reforming reactions with CO2 and steam on Ni-Y-Al catalysts

Objective: The purpose of this study was to characterize and compare glass-infused alumina-based ceramic systems by using X-Ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and flexural strength with a three-point bending test. The ceramic systems used were: (IC)- In-Ceram Alumina (VITA), (VC)- Vitro-Ceram (Angelus) and (AG)- Alglass (Celmat). The c

11. Estudo de variaveis que atuam no processo de cimentação de restaurações ceramicas : atenuação da luz, modos de ativação e tratamento superficial / Study of variables that act in the luting process of ceramic restorations : light attenuation, activation mode, and surface treatment
The durability of ceramic restoration depends of factors like the conversion degree of a luting agent and the interaction of this luting agent with the ceramic internal surface. These in vitro studies evaluate: (1) the influence of different ceramics and the effect of different activation modes on Knoop Hardness Number (KHN) of a dual agent luting, immediate

12. CORROSION OF ADVANCED STAINLESS STEEL IN PHYSIOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS / Corrosão de aços inoxidáveis avançados em meios fisiológicos
The main objective of this study was to determine the corrosion behavior of advanced stainless steels (SS) in physiological solutions to evaluate their potential for use as biomaterials. Four stainless steels were tested: a superferritic stainless steel (DIN W. Nr. 1.4575), Incoloy MA 956, containing aluminum and yttrium oxide, an austenitic stainless steel
