1. Substrates for seedlings with sewage sludge and biochar
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate substrates formulated with proportions of sewage sludge (SS)-solarized and SS-biochar in the production of seedlings of two indicator crops: lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) and black wattle (Acacia decurrens Wild). The study was composed of two experiments conducted in greenhouse, in randomized block designs.

3. Propagation of Streptosolen jamesonii (Benth.) Miers by stem cutting treated with IBA in different substrates

4. Behavior of Eucalyptus urophylla and Eucalyptus citriodora Seedlings Grown in Soil Contaminated by Arsenate
ABSTRACT Persistent areas of tailings and deposits from coal and gold mining may present high levels of arsenic (As), mainly in the arsenate form, endangering the environment and human health. The establishment of vegetation cover is a key step to reclaiming these environments. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the potential of Eucalyptus urophylla and E. c

5. Herança e correlação entre caracteres de raiz e eficiência de uso do nitrogênio em milho / Inheritance and correlation between root traits and nitrogen use efficiency in maize
The efficiency of nitrogen fertilization in maize did not exceed 50%. Among the existing proposals to increase the efficiency of nitrogen use in maize stands the higher N uptake from the increase of the root system, especially in environments with low availability of N. The objectives of this work were to study the influence of nitrogen in the genetic variab

6. Desenvolvimento de mudas de tamarindeiro: tamanhos de recipiente, substratos, peso de sementes e profundidades de semeadura / Development of tamarind seedlings: recipient size, substrate, seed weight and sowing depth
This study expanded the knowledge on tamarind (Tamarindus indica L.) seedling production by analyzing the effects of different container sizes and vermiculite doses in a commercial substrate and seed size and different sowing depths in a nursery seedling production. The experiments were done at the experimental farm Água Limpa in the sector of Fruit Crops,

7. IN VITRO AND EX VITRO PROPAGATION OF MATE (Ilex paraguariensis Saint Hilaire Aquifoliaceae). / PROPAGAÇÃO IN VITRO E EX VITRO de erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis Saint Hilaire Aquifoliaceae).
Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) is an important species in Southern Brazil for its economical and cultural values. The present work had the objectives of analyzing the propagation of mate by cuttings, disinfection and in vitro establishment of nodal segments from adult plants and micropropagation of plants originated from immature embryos. Mate cutting were submi

8. Lithothamnium and Substrates over the growth of Citrumeleiro âSwingleâ. / LITHOTHAMNIUM E SUBSTRATOS NO CRESCIMENTO DE PLÃNTULAS DO CITROMELEIRO SWINGLE .
This experiment was establised with the objective of evaluating the effect of six different substrates (conventional, PlamtmaxÂ, compound I, compound II, vermiculite, and muck), interacting with three different Lithothamnium doses, 0%, 5% and 10% (v/v), over the growth of citrumelo âSwingleâ plantlets, until the moment of chiming. The seeds were planted i

9. Use of a Controlled-Nutrient Experiment to Test Heterosis Hypotheses
A controlled-nutrient (CN) experiment was conducted to test three heterosis hypotheses with reference to tomato yield, and its components, for a set of two inbred lines and their hybrid that had previously exhibited considerable heterosis under field conditions. The CN treatments consisted of periodic applications of differential doses of nutrient solution t
