Survey of plants popularly used for pain relief in Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil

Ethnobotanical data can be an important tool in the search for new drugs. The Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency accepts the registration of herbal medicines based on ethnopharmacological and ethnobotanical studies.
