ABSTRACT: The problem considered in this review is related to the frequent use of corticosteroids (COs) (i.e. steroids) in the practice of equine medicine and surgery as a therapeutic strategy in the treatment of degenerative joint disease, commonly known as osteoarthritis (OA).
